Wow. What a year it has been. When Covid hit we moved my parents in with us. Looking after them gave us something to do and kept us less lonely than we might have been. And rural internet is lousy. I have to come to town just to visit my website and make updates.
We have just started inviting people over for dinner and getting out. Yesterday it was a !ocal ball game. WooHoo!
The farm is doing well. Our turkeys look great this year. Processing birds was kind of a bottle neck last year because of busy-ness at the plant but things seem to have settled out this year. We made a little progress improving the farm but there is always a lot to do’ We added some on farm grain storage which has been great help in sourcing non gm grains. With the recent rains I will be able to plant some summer pasture and cover crops. It has been dry the last couple months after a really wet winter. I have the frame of another chicken shed in the yard I will soon be hard at to give us a little more space for brooding birds. And the pigs are doing well. We raise heritage hogs that we feed a non soy non gmo ration to.
Going to get back at it. Hope you all are well and made it through the last year OK.
